That angel decoration has been hanging sa front door for many years.
May locked gate, locked screen, at locked pinto. Harang ng upuan sa gabi.

Every morning that I had to go into the office for work, Mama would already be up because she was usually awake by 4:30 am or 5 am.
As a regular pedestrian herself, she knew that there are a lot of bad drivers out there. So when I would say "bye" to her when leaving, Mama would always respond by saying, "Bye! Ingat sa pagtawid!"
Or when it was cloudy outside, she would always remind me, "Uulan; magdala ka ng payong!" Or if it was fall or winter, she would tell me, "Malamig sa labas; magsuot ka ng jacket!" ❤️

Window breaker, seat belt cutter, whistle, compass, flashlight.
In case may mangyari, kung ma trap ako sa loob, for emergency use... makakasurvive ako ang nasa isip na Mama.

Tiger's eye and obsidian bracelets that Mama gave me on February 3, 2014.
According to Chinese astrology, 2014 was the Year of the Horse, which was a bad year for me, a Wood Rat.
Mama was worried and told me to wear them everyday for at least a year to keep me safe and ward off bad luck or difficulties that might be coming my way.

In the last many years, tuwing Christmas, may regalo sa akin si Mama niyan. The newest 2 for 2023 are on top.
Nag regalo din siya ng knit gloves a few years back; nasa glove compartment ng car ko.
Gusto niya warm ako in the winter at wag malamigan ang ulo kong kalbo style na.
Love is warmth. Warmth is love.

These are just 3 of the flashlights that Mama gave me as a "stocking stuffer" over the years. I think she gave one to everyone.
She would usually tout it as the brightest and/or most energy efficient flashlight yet.
Mama wanted to ensure that I would always have light to guide me in the darkness.
Love is light. Light is love.
