I may not have said it in words, but I made her feel I cared for and loved her.
Kaya nga every Mother's Day, may flowers ako sa kanya. Birthday, Christmas, I gave her gifts that she would want. Alam ko nagustuhan niya sobra yung Ray-Ban sunglasses na binigay ko sa kanya. Gusto niya makita ko na suot niya yun, kaya pag sunny sa labas, suot niya papunta sa mall.
I also gave her Victoria's Secret pajamas; she would wear them during wintertime. Yung tsinelas na binigay ko sa kanya na medyo malaki, sinuot pa rin niya yun every winter kahit nag shuffle ang paglakad niya dahil nga a little too big.
Every time I hugged her, I hugged her so tight and tender that she would let out a "hmmm!" sound—I made her feel that.
And we were always open about talking about deep topics. Kahit conflicting opinions and ideas, there was always understanding. I will say that we had that connection and understanding.

I wish I had spoiled Mama more when she was alive. I have a lot of regrets.

You've actually done that. You bought her new phones and tablets, gadgets, earbuds, tablet stands. Mga downloads mo ng Tagalog movies and teleseryes through the years. The things you paid for.
Don't forget you were always there for her in hospital. You were the one in the ambulance with her. You've been very important especially during nighttime. Nakwento pa nga ni Mama: sobrang care mo sa kanya sa hospital; you did more than the nurse. Keeping her moisturized and wiped clean. Sabi nga niya pati sa kilikili niya, sa singit niya—you wiped everything. How many times did you help her use the commode? Very grateful siya sa ginawa mo, especially nga the last few weeks. You've shown her love and care without realizing it.
Don't feel guilt or blame because when she had the heart attack one year ago, that could've been it. You've done so much for her in the past year.

Everything na ginawa mo to take care of her, she knows. Sabi ni Mama mo sa akin noong nasa hospital siya, "Darating na si Jovert. Pupunasan na naman niya ako. Lotion sa mukha, sa kamay para hindi dry. Asikaso ako pati pagsuklay ng buhok."

I wish had done more. I could have done so much more to show her how much I love her. In the last 15 years, I mostly gave Mama ang pao on special occasions because (1) I wanted her to buy what she wanted, and (2) it was quick and easy for me. Before I had a job, I needed to be more creative. These are some of the Mother's Day cards I made for her:
