To my beloved sister, Ligaya:
Do you remember, when you were a kid, you would always faint at the sight of blood?
Like the blood of fish: one day you were cleaning a fish and there was blood. You left it for a moment and went inside the room. Next thing I know, I heard a loud bang inside the room. When I took a look, I found you, and you had fainted. Nanay told me to tell you not to be scared.
Maybe if we had money back then, we should have had you examined by a doctor. Why did it happen? Whenever you saw blood, you would faint. Thank God, as you got older, it stopped. But that was probably a sign of the problem with your heart–it was weak.
But I am thankful: at least there is no more pain and sorrow for you now. You are with our relatives, our parents, and especially our Lord in heaven.
Ligaya, always remember: you're always in my heart. I'll never forget you, and I love you very much.
Your sister,
Elisa
